Camacho made two appearances for Liverpool last season, starting the FA Cup third round defeat at Wolves and coming on as a late substitute in a 4-3 Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield, both in January last year.

The teenager sees himself as a more attacking player though, but with competition for places proving fierce at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp preferred to use him as an understudy for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

With chances in his preferred positions proving limited, Camacho – who was once on the books at Manchester City – pursued a move to Sporting, another of his former clubs, last summer.

He ended up moving in a deal that was worth an initial £5million that could rise to £7million, and he has already caught the eye back in Portugal.

He hasn’t forgotten about Liverpool though, and says he is still in regular contact with some of his old teammates.

“I have spoken with some of the youngsters from Liverpool, but also with others from the main team, mainly those who speak Portuguese, like Fabinho, [Roberto] Firmino, Alisson,” Camacho told Tribuna Expresso, via the Liverpool Echo.

“But also with Sadio Mane They have given me advice, because they have seen some of my games at Sporting.”

Camacho has indeed impressed at Sporting, slowly being introduced into the side before eventually becoming a regular starter for the club prior to the current suspension of football.

He has even begun to be linked with moves back to the Premier League, with Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United and Everton both said to be interested in him in February.

The Reds negotiated a 20 per cent sell on clause in Camacho’s move to Sporting last year, and so should he move on again then they could be in line for a cut of the fee and even more profit on him.

If he is on the move again, then no doubt his former teammates will wish him well.
